The alternative media arose because the mainstream media was doing such a terrible job. They became openly biased and no longer had any pretense of presenting both sides of a story. So, the citizenry moved in to fill the void. Which, naturally, totally irritates the mainstream press. They no longer have a monopoly on news dissemination. When YouTube decided to put together a citizen journalist project they turned to all the old, tired liberal hacks to teach you the “ins and outs of journalistic ethics.” Puh-lease!
