protests, tea party protests, town hall meetings
In politics on July 31, 2009 at 8:45 pm

When Republicans are in the White House the media is eager to highlight any protest no matter how small. It’s a different story when it comes to people protesting the policies of their beloved Obama. Tea Party protesters are ignored or derided even though their numbers are huge. Now they’re doing the same thing with town hall protesters. The media ignores them and Dem congressmen try to make light of the situation. “People have gotten fired up and all that, but I think that’s what makes town halls fun,” said Democratic Congressman Perriello. Other Dems have canceled all their town hall meetings due to “unruly behavior.” The media is trying to keep the lid on it but people are turning out in record numbers to show their dissatisfaction with Obama’s policies. Our voices are being heard. Obama is finding out that America isn’t quite the sitting duck he thought it was. LINK

Seniors of America, fire up those Rascals and grab your walkers. It’s time to take to the streets! Even though AARP sold them down the river, seniors are getting hip to Obamacare. They heard the Prez say seniors will be denied operations and given pain medication instead. They know that they will be sacrificed “for the greater good.” Just as Obama’s socialist agenda amounts to a “soft tyranny” his healthcare plan is “soft genocide.” Are the seniors of this country willing to give up their lives to help Obama achieve his socialist utopia? Just ask Feinstein about the senior squatters at her office. Never before has the “Hell no go we won’t go!” chant meant more. LINK

We would have less of a problem with Frum if he didn’t try to masquerade as a conservative. He’s obviously a moderate but insists on speaking for conservatives. Why be such a coward? Own up to your middle-of-the-roadness. Go out and lead the moderates who have no principles, no discernable ideology, no voter base and frankly, no ideas. All they are about is “getting along.” Meanwhile, the Dems have gone way, way far left. They don’t give an inch. To get along with them, we have to join them. So, Frum attacks Levin for being ideologically pure. And, Mark rightly points out that he is a fraud. Just look at his stupid NewMajority website. It’s conservatism made to appeal to liberals and the media. What’s the point in that? If this were truly the future of the Republican Party then the Party would have no future at all. LINK
obamacare

We’re so lucky to have a President who knows everything about everything. Gosh, he’s even come up with a smarter way to pay doctors. Instead of paying by the procedure he will “reward” doctors who he determines are being efficient. You know, if it was anyone else we might worry that our quality of healthcare might suffer from such a practice. But since it’s Obama, who knows everything about everything, we’re sure he’ll use some sort of wizard magic to get it right. If only he had time to perform all the operations himself we’d live forever! Of course, he thinks operations are a waste of money … old people should just die … so that wouldn’t really work. Oh, never mind! It’s too much for our little minds to figure out. Just trust Obama. TRUST. LINK

The healthcare that White House staffers and congress receive has been described as medical Shangri-La. There are no waits. Prescriptions for any condition are written and the drugs swiftly dispensed. Any medical procedure, including in-patient surgery, is performed immediately at no cost to the patient. It’s a far cry from the rationed, low quality care Obama is describing for the rest of us. “You don’t need that MRI. It’s too expensive. Just take some pain killers and crawl off somewhere to die. Next!” LINK

You’re too fat. That’s what the government thinks, at least. They say obesity is a huge problem in America. Isn’t that nice? The government is concerned about your health. Well, not really. They’re just concerned about how much it will cost to treat you. This is a foretaste of what Obamacare would be like. The government dictating what we can and can’t eat, and how much. Yesterday, the CDC recommended restrictions on portion sizes, the availability of unhealthy foods and beverages, and limits on the advertising of unhealthy foods. The recommendations are for public venues, with more widespread restrictions in the future. CDC Director Thomas Frieden recommended a tax on sugary drinks, decreases in the availability of unhealthy foods and increased prices. Former fatty himself, Bill Clinton, got in on the act adding “We have to change what goes on at home, in the community, the neighborhood and schools.” If Obama has his way, the government will invite itself to your dinner table and never leave. The Senate is preparing to unveil a compromise bill. They say they have eliminated the government insurance option and will instead create a “nonprofit cooperative” that competes with private industry. Which means it’s still the government option with a new name. The other supposed big concession is to get rid of the requirement for businesses to cover employees. This was probably built in from the beginning as a straw dog to be dropped later. All these details are irrelevant anyway. If we’re occupied with minutiae it makes us lose focus to oppose the whole idea at large. Obama certainly doesn’t care about the details – he hasn’t even read them! He knows that once government has healthcare under its thumb it can do whatever it wants. Olympia Snow and other moderates are falling for this ruse. We’re sure the bluedog Dems aren’t far behind. Keep up the calls to your congressmen to oppose this debacle, no matter what the details. LINK

Anyway, someone actually read the bill and discovered 5 freedoms we’ll lose. 5. Freedom to choose your doctor. 4. Freedom to keep your existing plan – Obama continues to lie about this on a daily basis. 3. Freedom to choose high-deductible coverage. 2. Freedom to be rewarded for healthy living, or pay your real costs. 1. Freedom to choose what’s in your plan. LINK

All the media is in the tank for Obama but no publication is worse than Newsweek. BHO is on the cover every other week. When Obama decided that it was politically beneficial to pretend the recession is over he looked to Newsweek to propagate the “good news.” They point to the increase in the stock market. There has been a slight increase but it is still way down from the Bush glory days. A slow down of downward trend does not equal recovery. All other indicators, such as the housing market, are still way down. And, most telling, the job market is still in the crapper with no signs of improving. Don’t believe the hype. There is no such thing as a jobless recovery. Obama is trying to lie his way out of the economic disaster he created and Newsweek is his willing accomplice. LINK

In politics on July 27, 2009 at 8:30 am
Dick Morris has discovered the secret weapon that will help Obama transform America once and for all. By covering illegals, Obamacare will create an unprecedented run on the border. It will be an irresistible draw for millions of Mexicans to cross the border – and this is what he wants. Once these millions are here he will grant them citizenship and in one fell swoop create an insurmountable voting block. Have you wondered why the matter of illegals and healthcare has been completely ignored by the media? That’s because they’re trying to help keep it quiet and slip it through. When the GOP tried to add a provision to insure illegals weren’t covered, it was shot down. It was barely reported in the press. This may sound like a conspiracy theory but it shouldn’t be discounted. Obama’s very good at hiding it, but we all got a glimpse of his dark side last week when he called the police stupid. He’s an angry, bitter man with a radical agenda. He intends to turn America into a socialist country and he will do whatever it takes to accomplish this goal. Share this news with everyone you know so we can shed light on this plan before it’s too late. This is for real, people. LINK

Back in the good old days of last month, Obama just had to make an utterance and it was so. Seems like a million years ago. He tried his “charisma” offensive this week and America yawned. Well, they yawned about the Obamacare stuff at least. Seems the only way he can get a reaction these days is to get all bitter and old school racial. America took notice when our president called the police stupid. Most people don’t really go for that community organizing radicalism from our president. Rasmussen conducted their daily poll and found Obama did more harm than good. He now has a 49% approval rate and a -9 on their strong feelings index. Maybe it’s time for BHO to put the cape in the closet for a while. In fact, he probably ought to just get out of our faces for a couple of weeks. For that, we would be truly thankful. LINK
anger, bias, cambridge, police acted stupidly, prejudice, skip gates
In politics on July 24, 2009 at 3:06 pm
Everyone has heard the media’s chosen snippets but it is very illuminating to hear the remarks in full. We get to see Obama’s built in bias, prejudice and anger. In order, his assumptions are: the black person acted without fault, race played a role, the suspect’s anger is natural and justified, police acted stupidly, the suspect is wrongly arrested, the details aren’t important because racial profiling in America is indisputable, race remains a factor and still haunts us, blacks and Hispanics get picked up without cause, police must work harder to improve techniques and eliminate bias so we’ll be safer. Now, read the transcript and see for yourself.
FULL TRANSCRIPT: “Well, I — I should say at the outset that Skip Gates is a friend, so I may be a little biased here. I don’t know all the facts. What’s been reported, though, is that the guy forgot his keys, jimmied his way to get into the house; there was a report called into the police station that there might be a burglary taking place. So far, so good, right? I mean, if I was trying to jigger into — well, I guess this is my house now, so — (laughter) — it probably wouldn’t happen. But let’s say my old house in Chicago — (laughter) — here I’d get shot. (Laughter.) But so far, so good. They’re — they’re — they’re reporting. The police are doing what they should. There’s a call. They go investigate. What happens? My understanding is, at that point, Professor Gates is already in his house. The police officer comes in. I’m sure there’s some exchange of words. But my understanding is — is that Professor Gates then shows his ID to show that this is his house, and at that point he gets arrested for disorderly conduct, charges which are later dropped. Now, I’ve — I don’t know, not having been there and not seeing all the facts, what role race played in that. But I think it’s fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry; number two, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home. And number three, what I think we know separate and apart from this incident is that there is a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcing disproportionately. That’s just a fact. As you know, Lynn, when I was in the state legislature in Illinois, we worked on a racial profiling bill because there was indisputable evidence that blacks and Hispanics were being stopped disproportionately. And that is a sign, an example of how, you know, race remains a factor in the society. That doesn’t lessen the incredible progress that has been made. I am standing here as testimony to the progress that’s been made. And yet the fact of the matter is, is that, you know, this still haunts us. And even when there are honest misunderstandings, the fact that blacks and Hispanics are picked up more frequently, and oftentime for no cause, casts suspicion even when there is good cause. And that’s why I think the more that we’re working with local law enforcement to improve policing techniques so that we’re eliminating potential bias, the safer everybody’s going to be.” VIDEO

Here’s a reference point for all future would-be American dictators. You have about 7 months to spread your disease before a majority of the American people catch on. A new Rasmussen poll shows that Obama’s support has fallen to 49%. And his policies fare even worse. 53% oppose healthcare reform while only 44% support it. 72% don’t want the government to dictate what type of light bulbs they use. 63% say the country is moving in the wrong direction. 25% think the stimulus plan has helped while 31% think it has hurt. Only 32% think Obama is governing in a bipartisan fashion while 53% think he is a partisan Democrat. 20% think healthcare should be the Prez’s #1 priority while 37% think cutting the deficit should be. So, have we won? Has Obama been neutered? Don’t count on it. His agenda won’t change. Only his methods of achieving it will. The next few weeks should be very telling about how he intends to proceed without the public support he has relied on so heavily. LINK

Among all the lies about healthcare reform, Obama did lift the veil for one moment last night. He said the police acted “stupidly” arresting a black professor who appeared to be breaking into a home. He made this statement even though he admitted he didn’t know the details of the case. This says truckloads about the inner workings of Obama’s mind. He immediately believes the worst about the police. Isn’t that just the same way he views the military and America in general? Guilt first, details later. Now he’s trying to backpedal but America got a glimpse of the true Obama last night. LINK

All we get is vague and absurd warnings like “Crop devastation, melting glaciers, water shortages and displaced people will drag the military into conflict…” So – you guessed it – we must act now “to save the world!” If we don’t, these “climate conflicts” will melt the rainbows and make bunnies cry. Like Obama said, when people reach a certain age the government will have to evaluate whether their lives are worth saving. Under any set of rules one would have to assume Teddy wouldn’t meet the criteria. He’s 76 years old and has been diagnosed with brain cancer. Considering life expectancy is 78, why should the government foot the bill to prolong his life for a measly two years? As Obama said, he should just take some painkillers and go quietly for the greater good. Ted Kennedy has claimed that passage of healthcare deform is his life mission. But if he was one of the masses instead of one of the new privileged class, that very bill would sentence him to certain death. Oh, the delicious irony. We all know the healthcare deform bill, if passed, will let senior citizens wither and die as they are denied treatments that will lengthen and improve their lives. Democratic leadership wants to go one step further to cull our population by letting government dollars pay for abortions. Sure, the bill doesn’t specifically call for them, but it sure as hell doesn’t forbid the idea. Some Democrat lawmakers insist that a provision supporting abortion be added before lending their support. This issue is just the latest to fracture Democrat support for what the Wall Street Journal calls “One of the worst pieces of legislation ever introduced in Congress.” When President Obama was asked about the controversy, he did his usual song and dance, refusing to answer the question. One month ago, support was tied at 41% to 41%. In the intervening weeks the public has been subjected to an onslaught of supportive media propaganda. Obama has been on tv and all over the country pitching it. So, why is support going down? Is the Obama magic wearing thin? Do people see how wrong his stimulus plan has gone? Are people rejecting Obama’s socialist agenda? 78% also recognize that taxes will go up even though Obama promises they won’t. Of course, none of this matters. The government’s war against free speech is about to get hot. A bunch of failed minority broadcasters have scurried to DC with the hopes of suckling at the prodigious teat of Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner. Not surprisingly, they have the full support of several powerful democrats including Charlie Rangel and Barney Frank. Recent bailouts have come with lots of conditions and government interference. Why should this one be any different? Once the Obama administration gets its claws into the broadcasters, “state run media” will no longer be a clever term used to describe the mainstream media. It will be official. It will pump propaganda into minority markets like a mama bird regurgitating into the mouths of her hatchlings. Don’t expect it to stop there. As with all things government, the cancer will spread to other markets one way or the other. The final aim of all this nonsense, of course, is the silencing of conservative talk radio. During a senate committee hearing, The CEO of the National Black Chamber of Commerce, Harry C. Alford, spoke out in opposition to proposed climate change legislation. Barbara Boxer cut him off mid-sentence to list all the other “black” groups that supported the legislation. Alford rightly pointed out that it was irrelevant what the other “black” groups were doing and that it was racist to propose that he must agree with them. He became quite emotional and went on to point out that Boxer was being “condescending” and her line of reasoning was “God awful.” While he spoke, Boxer was dismissive and chattered on to the person sitting next to her. This is a vivid example of how the true racists in America are the liberals. They don’t see people as individuals, they only see color of skin. There was always a sense that they were just going through the motions. They never called the firefighters to testify. Today they announced they would not filibuster. Several Republicans even hinted they would vote for her. They started out strong but they had no follow through. Let’s face it. Republicans are just too polite and too nice. There was no Borking. No pubic hairs on Coke cans. No disrespectful grandstanding. The Dems wouldn’t even allow Estrada’s nomination go to the floor. Remember when they made Alito’s wife cry? So, it’s good enough for us but not the lawmakers who are ramming it down our throats. As Rush Limbaugh has suggested, we need to put this question to every Senator. We should not allow the Democrats to create a new privileged class in America. If they expect us to live with long lines and rationed care they better be there in line with us. In politics on July 15, 2009 at 9:04 am
The Democrat leaders in the Senate plan to use a special parliamentary procedure to shut out dissent and pass healthcare reform with only 51 votes. This procedure is called “reconciliation” and it would prevent Republicans from blocking passage by bypassing the usual 60 votes required to pass a bill. Obama has already tossed aside his promise to work for bipartisan support. He says the ends justify the means and that this bill is too important to get hung up on “process.” Just like his promise of transparency and his promise to exclude lobbyists from his administration, it seems Obama only keeps promises when convenient. In order for this bill to fail all 40 Republican plus 10 Democrats must vote against it. The decks are stacked against us. Unless there is a huge public outcry this bill will pass. We created a lot of great discussion and built up a very sizable following in a matter of a couple weeks. Then all of sudden we had the rug pulled out from under us and had our posting privileges revoked. Why? Because we posted to the News section of the website instead of the Blog section. Of course, we didn’t realize this was against the rules. We sent emails promising that this mistake would not be made again but we were completely ignored. It’s their website and they can be hardasses if they want, but it seems to go against the spirit of the website to shut out a member for such a small infraction. Anyway, if any of our readers have any pull at New Republic, please appeal to them to reinstate our posting privileges. C`mon, Freepers. Apply some pressure help your bros out!
democracy

Recently the National Endowment for Democracy, a nonprofit group dedicated to strengthening democracy around the world, honored five Cuban activists with their Democracy Award for their efforts at bringing democracy to Cuba. The award was presented to the sister of one of the activists because four of them are in jail. The fifth was released from prison after 17 years. Normally the recipient of the award is invited to the White House for a little face time with the leader of the free world. Not this year. Obama’s White House ignored the NED request for a meeting, eventually stating that the President gets many such requests and the snub doesn’t indicate a lack of interest. Hogwash. The ugly truth is that liberty is not a priority to this president. LINK
rush limbaugh, Sotomayor, supreme court
In politics on July 13, 2009 at 9:50 am
Rush Limbaugh says we need to oppose Sotomayor even though there’s no way we’ll stop her confirmation. He’s probably right but that really shouldn’t be the mindset. Sure, there’s less than a 10% chance she can be stopped, but in the whole scheme of things 10 to 1 aren’t bad odds. Look at the Harriet Meyers debacle. Odds were we couldn’t derail that non-nomination, but we did. Sometimes you just have to do what’s right no matter what the outcome. Let’s look at what we know. She was a product of affirmative action who got into law school despite her inferior grades. Don’t we want the best of the best on Supreme Court? This is one mark against her. Of course, we have her well-publicized racist remarks that a wise Latina woman is smarter than a white male. That’s strike two. She had her case of reverse discrimination reversed by Supreme Court while she was waiting for confirmation. That’s the third black mark. Fourthly, the whole empathy issue. Do we really want a justice who turns a blind eye to the blind eye of justice and favors one group over another? Lastly, we have the Dems and the press threatening the Repubs that it will be political suicide for them to oppose a Latina. Whatever political advice these guys give us, we need to do the opposite. We need to show the nation we don’t play racial politics. We vote for or against people because of their merits, or lack there of. The Repubs have been showing a little backbone lately. Let’s see if they continue on that path and send Sotomayor back to the minor leagues where she belongs.

When are the Repubs going to learn the Dems don’t fight fair. Just like when they tried to discredit and destroy Joe The Plumer they’re going to try do the same thing to the firefighter Sotomayor ruled against in the reverse discrimination case. They’re saying he has a history of litigation and if Joe was an example they’ll soon say he isn’t really a firefighter and cheated on his taxes. Of course, when you’re a Dem appointee not paying taxes is a resume enhancer. Anyway, get ready for the Dem and media smear machine to kick into gear. Don’t be surprised if they claim he starts his own fires just so he can look heroic. Nothing is below these people. LINK

What’s it take to buy off the press? Apparently little more than a hot dog and some baked beans. The White House threw a secret BBQ party and invited all the major press players, except Fox News, of course. What did they have to offer in exchange for the privilege of a three-legged race with the Prez? They just had to promise not to report it. Well, somebody somewhere piped up because the Gawker got the story. So much for the Constitutionally endowed role of the press to act as watchdogs over the President. These dogs were on the White House lawn jumping for frisbees. LINK

What is this? Is the Republican Party actually acting like the opposition party? Yes, they are and it’s about time. The recent falling poll numbers for Obama must have convinced them that they are okay to criticize the Prez. A new RNC internet ad pins job losses, deficit doubling and wasted stimulus money squarely on BHO where it belongs. And, it’s actually a well produced, slick looking ad! TDI salutes this bold new direction. Maybe there’s hope for the Republican Party after all. LINK

Looks like Muslims aren’t buying the Obama hype. His popularity and “magic of charisma” are mocked in a new audiotape from Al Qaeda head honcho Abu Mansour. This guy is a former American who moved to Somalia to lead that part of the world’s terrorist activity. The basic flaw in Obama’s worldview is revealed in this little episode. He thinks America is the root and cause of all the anger in the world. So, he apologizes to the Muslims and extends his hand only to have it met with swords. When are the libs going to understand that we can’t do anything to make people stop hating us? It’s not up to us to change, it’s up to them. Here’s the message we should be sending to all those wacky muslims: Get over yourselves already with your creepy religion and backwards society! When you’re ready to act like civilized people and sit at the adult table give us a call. LINK

Ever wonder why Obama is always in such a hurry? We have to approve this stimulus now. We have to pass Cap & Trade now. We have to have national healthcare now. He is smart enough to know that his undeserved popularity won’t last forever. Once people figure out what he’s really up to, they will start to put the brakes on his nonsense. Well, expect his urgency to get even more strident. His popularity index is in a freefall, down 8 points in as many days. Of course, this is great news for America. If we can manage to stop his healthcare reform, there just might be hope for this country. Keep your fingers crossed and pray to your Christian God while you still can. LINK
secret agenda
In politics on July 9, 2009 at 9:58 am
The world is just a big pool of money. Too much of it is in America and not enough of it is in Muslim and other third world countries. His goal is to level the playing the field. Take from America to raise the poor parts of the world up. In Obama’s mind he is not the American president, he is a world leader. Being the American president is just a means to an end. He thinks Americans are rich and spoiled and have no idea what true poverty is. He’s seen third world poverty first hand when he went to a Muslim school in Indonesia. He doesn’t mind taking from the American people because he knows we can survive on much less. He is trying to impose his ideal of justice on us and the world. He doesn’t care about global warming. It is just a way he can take further control of the country. He doesn’t care about the economy. Freedom and Democracy just get in his way. This is why he admires and supports dictators. He wishes he had that kind of absolute power. Truth is, Obama doesn’t care about America, appreciate America or even like America. We’ve lived fat too long. The rest of the world has gotten by on much less and we should, too. Obama’s presidency is about revenge. He has to destroy America so he can remake it. His goal is to knock America down to size so he can create a more equal world where all people, except the political elites like himself, live together in poverty. That is the true meaning of Obama’s “change.”

Those rascally Norks are smarter than we thought. While we were worried about their missiles they took down the websites of the Treasury Department, Secret Service, Federal Trade Commission and Transportation Department over the holiday weekend. Some of these sites were down for longer than 24 hours. It’s the largest and most successful cyber attack on the U.S. in history and yet it’s barely getting a peep out of the news media. This is serious business and shows the Norks are a real threat to our national security. But terrorist attacks don’t fit the Obama template. We’re the bad guys who provoke the attacks, remember? It just goes to show Cheney was right. We are all a lot less safe under Obama. LINK

Why bother taxing CO2? Let’s get to the root of problem: humans and all that unnecessary breathing! This is where Obamacare and Cap & Trade can work hand in hand. We all know BHO wants to kill off the old people to save medical costs, but there is a super added extra benefit. Fewer living people = less people making CO2. DC could work up one of their special programs where we trade in old people carcasses for oxygen credits. We’re sure those crafty politicians can add in some aborted baby exchange program, too. It’s all about saving the planet, people! See what we can accomplish if we just open our minds to the Obama way? LINK

The Honduran people claim that CNN and Obama are in cahoots with Chavez to misrepresent what happened with the ousting of Zelaya. While the U.S. press eagerly reported the small group of Zelaya supporters that gathered at the airport when he tried to return to the country, they completely ignore the much larger demonstrations that are taking place against Zelaya. As the linked YouTube video shows, the Honduran people know CNN is intentionally propagating Obama’s lies. The second video linked below shows the true story of how Zelaya was Constitutionally removed from office for trying to do away with Presidential term limits so he could stay in power indefinitely. Obama supports these efforts because he has the same intentions to extend his presidency in the U.S. Honduras is just the warm-up for the future Banana Republic States of America. LINK1 LINK2

Colin Powell has finally pulled his head out of the dark, steamy orifice that it’s called home for many, many months to openly question the madness spewing from Barrack Hussein Obama’s White House. Hopefully, the former Secretary of State’s judgment will remain clear now that he’s breathing some fresh air. So bamboozled by Obama’s charm and race, he must have lost sight of the fact that the man he endorsed for the Presidency was a raging anti-America liberal. How else could Powell have expected anything but a ridiculously expensive big-government agenda from an Obama administration? Be grateful that Mr. Powell is finally able to judge President Obama on the content of his policies and actions rather than the color of his skin. LINK

The Dems and the media and the reasonable republicans (aka: turncoats) have done nothing but criticize Palin from the start. So, of course they criticize her resignation, too. Like Rush says, the left is always going to hate us so there is no point in pandering to them. Just do what you think is right and let the chips fall where they will. The truth is, if Palin does have presidential aspirations, hanging out in court in Alaska for two years wasn’t going to move the mark at all. Alaska is literally a country away. She will be much more effective on the national scene by being freed up to work the “lower 48.” The country needs her and she knows it. She is easily the bravest and boldest Republican on the scene. TDI supports her move and is already firing up the bumper sticker machine for 2012. LINK

That photo up there is a ticket from an Obama appearance where he used an upside down flag as the visual. Just careless? Purposefully disrespectful? Neither one is acceptable. But nothing this president does is ever right side up. Have you ever noticed how there are some words that Obama will never say? For his 4th speech he never mentioned freedom, democracy, founding fathers, liberty, much less the pursuit of happiness. He never praises the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence. In fact, he never has anything good to say about this country ever. He just sees America as one huge problem he needs to “fix.” Most of his speech today was his usual Obamacare diatribe. The only mention he made to our history was this passing reference, “We did not get here by doing what was easy. That is not how a cluster of 13 colonies became the United States of America.” A random cluster of colonies. That’s all he thinks America is. He doesn’t see the miracle and inspired brilliance that was the founding of our nation. He truly does not deserve to be President of this great country. We just hope he enjoyed sharing his hot dogs with the Iranian tyrants he invited to the White House. LINK

In honor of our president who rallies against American individualism and self-reliance, Rush says we should consider changing Independence Day into Dependence Day. Obama wants to create a nanny state where everyone has to depend on government for all our needs. It’s unabashed socialism and it is the antithesis of the ideas America was founded upon – liberty, freedom, the pursuit of happiness, individuality and independence. Rush says it is up to us conservatives to cherish, protect and promote the virtues of independence. So, wave that flag proudly today and remind your friends, family and neighbors about the true meaning of the day. Happy Independence Day! LINK

Just when Obamacare seemed down for the count Chris Dodd led the Senate troops and trimmed an amazing 40% from the bill. Well, not actually trimmed. If you look closely, they’re really just shifting some of the costs to a new, undisclosed second bill. There are other really neat aspects to the bill, too. They’re going to make insurance companies cover people with pre-existing conditions without the option to charge them more. And, they’re going to make them cover anyone that applies – they can’t say no. The laws of economics be damned! So what if they companies go broke! But wait, that’s the real goal. Obamacare Mach II retains the government run option so when the private companies go out of business everyone will be forced to look to Obama for salvation. And we do mean forced. There is a huge penalty tax imposed on anyone who tries to go without healthcare. Just in case there are any politicians out there who aren’t eager to destroy the world’s greatest healthcare system, the Dems think they have one more ace up their sleeve. We have to pass this bill “to honor” the swimmer, Ted Kennedy. As far as TDI is concerned that’s the only reason needed to vote against it. LINK

It gives me pause to report that Obama talks out of both sides of his mouth, although I can’t say that unequivocally. He is, most likely, although we must stay open to other possibilities, definitely perhaps speaking in such a way that everyone can hear what they want to hear in his words – or maybe not. He is without a doubt, while taking into consideration those who might argue otherwise, the world’s greatest double-speaker, though it’s still open for debate. All I know is, at least I’m inclined to think, that his actions, as opposed to his precisely imprecise words, should be the true arbitrator of his intent. On this point I am firm but I still welcome opinions from both sides of the argument to which I will listen patiently and then ignore completely. I’m sure, at least I hope, that I’ve made myself somewhat perfectly clear. LINK

A new study finds the socialist’s shining example of government run healthcare, Canada, has out-of-control wait times for treatment. Here are a few examples. The average wait for urinary incontinence treatment – 247 days. Chronic diarrhea treatment – 260 days. Colonoscopy screenings – 148 days. And, if you have an emergency? Let’s just say you better bring a sleeping bag. The average wait time for ER care is 23.5 hours. People are literally dying waiting for their second rate healthcare. Is this really what we want for ourselves in America? LINK

Like a zombie rising from the grave, The Grand Old Lady of the White House Press Corp tore into Obama Press Secretary Robert Gibbs. She said there has never been an administration that has tried to control the press so tightly. She complained about Obama’s phony town hall meetings where questions are screened and selected ahead of time. She complained about planted questions at press conferences. She said that even Nixon would have never tried such a thing. Robert’s reply? “Uh…gee…well…gosh…NEXT!” Nice work Helen! As America’s first anti-democracy president, Obama’s foreign policy can be a little hard to follow. The only real way to know where he will stand on an issue is to assume he will side with dictators over democracy. The pathetic excuse he made up for siding with the mullahs in Iran was his “non-interference doctrine.” Well, he certainly has taken the opposite approach with Honduras. He immediately and strongly went on record in support of ousted leader Zelaya. And now he is threatening sanctions unless his would-be dictator bud gets re-instated. Meanwhile, interim Honduran President Micheletti has threatened military action if Zelaya tries to return. So, how will this play out? Will Obama continue to stand with Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro? Will he give military support to reinstall a Constitution defying dictator to power over the wishes of the Honduran people, congress, Supreme Court and military? TDI is predicting Obama will do whatever it takes to prop up the dictator – democracy be damned. LINK

First, Rush mentioned that he had been working on a top-secret project of vital importance that occurred Monday evening. He said that he hoped to tell us about it someday. Secondly, Mark Levin was MIA Monday and had an unscheduled guest host for his show. On Tuesday, Mark also mentioned a very important secret meeting that had taken place the day before in Colorado. So, what was this secret summit all about? Mark provided more clues. He said it was time to stop saying Obama is moving towards a soft tyranny and to declare that we are officially in the midst of a soft tyranny. Mark went on to say it is going to take many years to reverse what Obama has done but conservatives have to organize and start working immediately. He went on to name 39 moderate democrats that need to be targeted for defeat in the next election. These are representatives that voted for Cap and Trade even though they come from traditionally conservative districts. One has to surmise that Mark and Rush are also working on a plan to defend talk radio against the eventual move to have it silenced by the Obama administration. TDI doesn’t know everything that took place at this secret summit but we feel better knowing that these two conservative titans are actively working behind the scenes to protect our liberty. Know that you have our unerring gratitude and support.
