What’s it take to buy off the press? Apparently little more than a hot dog and some baked beans. The White House threw a secret BBQ party and invited all the major press players, except Fox News, of course. What did they have to offer in exchange for the privilege of a three-legged race with the Prez? They just had to promise not to report it. Well, somebody somewhere piped up because the Gawker got the story. So much for the Constitutionally endowed role of the press to act as watchdogs over the President.
