Tea Party Blow-up: Mark Levin Vs. Glenn Beck

Glenn had been inching up the respect-o-meter. He occasionally stumbles into brilliance. Like the whole Van Jones thing. But man did he ever blow his coverage of the tea party march on D.C. Mark called him out for diluting the message of the marchers. They were there to rally against Obama’s lurch towards socialism, Obamacare and out-of-control spending. But Glenn took it upon himself to change their message at the last moment and say, “It’s not a march against Democrats. It’s not a march against Republicans. It’s a march against corruption!” Huh? Corruption? Really? Corruption of what by who? It’s just silly empty rhetoric. We’re up against a radical administration that wants to nationalize 20% of the U.S. economy. This is no time to lose focus. All you Beckers out there should take a break from his camera mugging for a couple weeks and check out Mark Levin’s show instead. You might actually learn something for a change.

  1. I have a tremendous amount of respect for all the radio hosts that help the cause, but with all due respect, NO ONE is better than Mark Levin. The man is sharp, unflappable and has nothing but facts to back up not only his points but rebuts of opposing views. Steve Malzberg on WOR 710 here in NY is another great voice in this fight, but I agree – take a listen to Mark and read Liberty & Tyranny if you haven’t yet…you will not be dissapointed.

  2. It’s no secret how Mark Levin feels about Glenn Beck – in fact this sounds like it was written by Mark Levin. I don’t like hosts that put down other hosts – it’s a real turn off. Beck is the one who has pulled the curtain back on this, not Mr. Levin. And by the way – I do learn a lot – from all sorts of sources – nice try though.

  3. I too admire and love Levin’s intelligence and listen as often as I can.I must differ a little. Beck’s appeal is the old KISS. Keeping it simple stupid. A good policy to add to the ranks. A simple step to the in depth approach Levin uses.

  4. You’re right about Beck. He does offer a different slant and that’s good. But he’s really hurting the cause by trying to recast it against corruption. Obama and his agenda is the problem and we shouldn’t lose focus of that.

  5. While it also turns me off when one host puts down another – as all conservative hosts stand for the American Patriots who are against big government and out of control spending, I still favor Levin’s message over Beck’s. Liberty & Tyranny is brilliant, and Mark Levin’s show offering is intelligent, crisp, and steeped in history and philosophy. Beck is good, but sometimes comes off as an entertainer, more than a thinker. It takes all sorts to serve the message – different providers provoke different audiences – ALL ARE WELCOME. Levin has tried very hard to avoid being associated with the “organizing of the event” – so as not to feed the Liberal fire of “astroturf” allegations. Beck should not take credit either, and I think that is why they disagree.

  6. I think there is a bigger picture here than just Obama.

  7. I listen to both of them daily… my problem with Mark is that he complaind about Glenn’s coverage of the .(remember this folks.).. “the 9/12 project. It was Glenn’s creation… had it not been for the efforts of Glenn, Mark would have had nothing to watch on Saturday.
These guys are on the same side … get off it Mark… Glenn is a patriot as you are .. We need you both, and Sean, and Rush….

  8. I like both Glenn and Mark, and can’t understand Mark’s negative criticisms, as both are on the same side! Is Mark jealous? He shouldn’t be, because he is successful in his own right. Glenn’s popularity is growing all the time because people connect with him and he is unafraid to speak the truth. I think Mark’s comments are beneath his dignity and wish he’d stop, and just be out with it and tell us what his beef with Glenn is.

  9. I think Levin is extremely petty concerning his feud with Glenn Beck. His charge that Beck “steals” from him is borderline idiotic, as if even talking about the same issues amounts to stealing. A more self confident host would welcome another voice against government corruption rather than cut down a potential rival for audience.

  10. It is a mystery why Mark has such a thing against Glenn. But the point of the piece was specifically about the way Glenn mischaracterized the reason for the march. Mark was right about that.
