Huffington Post on Supremes: Our Minority Can Beat Up Your Minority

Apparently the Huffpost thinks asking lots and lots of stupid questions is a sign of smarts. They gleefully brag that Sotomayor asked more questions in one session than Thomas has in several years. Did they ever stop to think that she asks so many questions because she doesn’t know anything? Thomas isn’t out to impress. He listens instead of talking and then writes brilliant, concise judgments. It’s called being confident and knowing the law. Don’t you just love the way the left has to judge everything through a prism of race? They have to compare their minority to ours. It just shows you who the true racists are. LINK

Sotomayor’s blah blah blah. Historic blah blah. Meh, Whatever.

In politics on August 10, 2009 at 5:09 pm

Not so long ago, The United States of America decided to elect a black guy (OK, half black. Whatever.) to the highest office in the land because it felt good and was historic and all that jazz. So far, that decision is working out great if you’re comfortable with euthanizing old people. The same historic, feel-good mentality that brought us President Obama now gives us our newest Supreme Court Justice, Sonya Sotomayor, the first Hispanic to sit on the highest court in the land. Unless you count Benjamin Cardozo, of course. Sure, the majority of her decisions ruled on by the High Court were reversed. And sure, she once said publicly that the courts are where policy is made. Oh, and she may or may not use actual “laws” to come to her decisions. What’s important here is that she isn’t an evil, white male. Let’s hope this feel-good story doesn’t get all creepy and weird like Obama’s.  LINK

***Weasel of the Moment: Lindsey Graham***

In politics on July 28, 2009 at 1:17 pm

grahamFor a brief minute it seemed like Lindsey had returned from the dark side. He was in there grilling Sotomayor with the rest of the Republicans. But in the end he put all that aside and voted for her because … well … just cuz. Lindsey is a bad egg and we should never forget that. He deserves your scorn. Throw mental tomatoes at his goober face and thank him for giving us another ultra-lib on the court. Can all you good people in South Carolina do the country a favor and please just vote this doofus out of office once-and-for-all? LINK

Sotomayor Hearings: We give the Republicans a C-

In politics on July 16, 2009 at 2:28 pm

The Republicans did a pretty good job grilling Sonja. They brought up the wise Latina comments and didn’t let her wiggle out of them. They brought up the empathy stuff. They pointed out when her current answers were in contradiction with her words in the past. So, why did we give them such a low grade? There was always a sense that they were just going through the motions. They never called the firefighters to testify. Today they announced they would not filibuster. Several Republicans even hinted they would vote for her. They started out strong but they had no follow through. Let’s face it. Republicans are just too polite and too nice. There was no Borking. No pubic hairs on Coke cans. No disrespectful grandstanding. The Dems wouldn’t even allow Estrada’s nomination go to the floor. Remember when they made Alito’s wife cry? Or, when they accused Roberts of being a racist just because he’s conservative? The Republicans talk a good game but when it comes down to it, they’re just not up to the fight. LINK

Day 2: Sotomayor Disowns Everything She Ever Did Or Said Ever

In politics on July 14, 2009 at 6:25 pm

Picture 28If liberalism is so mainstream why does the left always try to hide who they truly are? Through her rulings, writings and speeches Sotomayor has demonstrated what she really believes. Now she expects us to discount all of that and go on her word that she’ll be an impartial judge. Thankfully, Sessions and the other Republicans aren’t buying it. She’s an extreme leftist and everyone needs to know it. This is all a pathetic charade to try and fool the American people. Make no mistake – Sotomayor is just Obama in a dress. LINK

Sotomayor Hearings: Day One goes to the Republicans

In politics on July 14, 2009 at 9:20 am

Picture 26The Republicans came out with both barrels firing. Senator Jeff Sessions said, “Judge Sotomayor has said that she accepts that her opinions, sympathies, and prejudices will affect her rulings. Judge Sotomayor’s empathy for one group of firefighters turned out to be prejudice against the others.” Even Lindsey Graham took a couple of shots attacking her wellknown “empathy” for certain groups. As for the Democrats, their stupidity was on full parade. Al Franken made the absurd statement that Sotomayor is “the most experienced nominee in 100 years.” Pat Leahy asserted that Sotomayor’s disadvantaged upbringing meant she had no exposure to “the classics” as a child. He created this fiction even though it’s a well-known fact that Sotomayor attended a very prestigious private high school. The direct questioning starts today. Here’s hoping the tough grilling continues. LINK

The Case Against Sotomayor

In politics on July 13, 2009 at 9:50 am

Picture 25Rush Limbaugh says we need to oppose Sotomayor even though there’s no way we’ll stop her confirmation. He’s probably right but that really shouldn’t be the mindset. Sure, there’s less than a 10% chance she can be stopped, but in the whole scheme of things 10 to 1 aren’t bad odds. Look at the Harriet Meyers debacle. Odds were we couldn’t derail that non-nomination, but we did. Sometimes you just have to do what’s right no matter what the outcome. Let’s look at what we know. She was a product of affirmative action who got into law school despite her inferior grades. Don’t we want the best of the best on Supreme Court? This is one mark against her. Of course, we have her well-publicized racist remarks that a wise Latina woman is smarter than a white male. That’s strike two. She had her case of reverse discrimination reversed by Supreme Court while she was waiting for confirmation. That’s the third black mark. Fourthly, the whole empathy issue. Do we really want a justice who turns a blind eye to the blind eye of justice and favors one group over another? Lastly, we have the Dems and the press threatening the Repubs that it will be political suicide for them to oppose a Latina. Whatever political advice these guys give us, we need to do the opposite. We need to show the nation we don’t play racial politics. We vote for or against people because of their merits, or lack there of. The Repubs have been showing a little backbone lately. Let’s see if they continue on that path and send Sotomayor back to the minor leagues where she belongs.

Dems Plan “Joe The Plumber” Smear Of Sotomayor’s Firefighter

In politics on July 11, 2009 at 10:03 am

When are the Repubs going to learn the Dems don’t fight fair. Just like when they tried to discredit and destroy Joe The Plumer they’re going to try do the same thing to the firefighter Sotomayor ruled against in the reverse discrimination case. They’re saying he has a history of litigation and if Joe was an example they’ll soon say he isn’t really a firefighter and cheated on his taxes. Of course, when you’re a Dem appointee not paying taxes is a resume enhancer. Anyway, get ready for the Dem and media smear machine to kick into gear. Don’t be surprised if they claim he starts his own fires just so he can look heroic. Nothing is below these people. LINK

Sotomayor Slapped Down by The Supremes. Will it matter?

In politics on June 29, 2009 at 9:27 pm

SoniaSotomayor_090626_mnYou’d think a nominee who was just reversed by her would-be peers in the Supreme Court would be toast. Right? Not in Obama’s America. She’s garnered very little public criticism at all. So what if she’s incompetent. So what if she was caught ruling unconstitutionally in a reverse discrimination case. Obama wants her so the press wants her, too. If Obama can appoint tax cheats to his cabinet why not appoint a racist judge to the Supreme Court? At this rate he could appoint Hitler head of Jewish relations and no one would blink. LINK

Sotomayor: “I am a product of affirmative action.”

In Uncategorized on June 12, 2009 at 11:47 am

Picture 8Footage of Sotomayor has been unearthed that reveals the truth about the judge. In her own words she admits that her SAT scores were not good enough to get her into college. She goes on to say culturally biased questions are built into the tests so minorities do poorly on them. So, what we have is a nominee for the Supreme Court that is not smart enough to get into college and blames the test for her failure. The only thing more embarrassing than those statements are the shoulder pads Sonia is sporting in the video. The best of the best, indeed. LINK
